No it looks like we will be closed again this weekend. We had rain on Monday and rain on Wednesday and now they are calling for rain tomorrow and Saturday. Tuesday I was at the park fixing the parking lot which is getting together and should be okay. But trail one from the entrance to the bottom of heartbreaker is 6 to 14 inches of orange slop. I did not venture any farther in the park as I did not want to tear up 13 or 14 which also are very wet. With all 3 main trails to the bottom so sloppy and rain coming, I just can’t see any way I can open. We need to get 4 or 5 days of dry low humidity.
This normally would not be the case in our park but Presidents Day weekend we got rain all day Sunday with over 30 campers still in the park. This would have been a day I would close. But we needed to get everyone out who wanted to leave and we left folks in who wanted to stay. Consequently the main trails got rutted up. I’m not blaming anyone, this usually is not a big deal park condition wise if we could get 3 or 4 days to dry and then we smooth everything out. But we are in a rain cycle that is bringing rain up from the south which unfortunately hits us pretty hard. We are getting rain every other day! Rains from Atlanta usually miss us or we get it very light. Anyway let’s hope next weekend we dry out and can open.

We are closed Saturday and Sunday. Well the weather guys were way off for this weekend the park got hammered. Plus last weekend we had 40 rigs in the park during a day long rain on Sunday and the park got torn up. Now every rut is a river. The parking lot is soup. We need 7 to 10 days of drought for it to dry and us to grade and fix.
Friday looks very nice temps in the low 60’s. Friday night temps 39 to 44 degrees. Saturday morning looks good with a chance of rain Saturday (40%) late in the afternoon or evening mid to high 50’s. Sunday morning the rain should start to clear and then sunny through Monday. This time of year rain is very tough to figure. Tuesday we had a 70% chance and got no rain.
I know they are calling for rain late on Saturday and that’s the good news as we will have a great day on Saturday. Just to give an illustration of how weather moves and misses. Yesterday the forecast from the weather heads said there was a 70% chance of rain in Waterloo (where the park is) and we got no rain just fog. So just because it poured by you does not mean it rained here. I had several calls yesterday thinking we would be swamped. We are bone dry going into today and Saturday Morning. If it rains late, they say it should be over Sunday morning. If you are in doubt call 864 449 5698
We will be dry especially later in the day Saturday and Sunday. The ground will freeze and then thaw and leave moisture on the top early but will quickly tack up and dry. All trails are in very good shape as we have not had much rain at the park. A couple of triple black trails are wet with spring run off. The two or three springs on the property are mildly flowing. All 4×4 should be good. Stock rigs on street tires should be good later in the day(1:00pm). High temp 55 on Saturday 49 on Sunday no rain expected.
Looks like we have a 50 -50 chance of rain. We will open Saturday or try to, but for how long is tough to tell. If you are coming from a long way this may not be the weekend for you. Sunday looks a little better but for both days call 864 449 5698 and I will be watching the radar all day. Best I can tell on the day is as it goes. So call, some times we get the rain and some times it misses us.
We look like some rain tonight and fading rain tomorrow and then great weather for the weekend. We will be wet but not sloppy. All trails should be stable. Bone stock first timers should call to get an exact trail report. I’m guessing Sunday will be the best day condition wise and we have some buggies coming in from Augusta on Sunday. See you there

Well, last night everything changed. Why the weather folks can’t see a storm coming up from the Gulf a day or two before it gets here is beyond my comprehension. Maybe their weather map does not go Southwest.
Anyway, now it is supposed to rain from Friday to Monday. Best bet is call just before you want to go and I will let you know conditions at that time for that day. Coming from along way: you probably should pick a different weekend.

This weekend we will open early Friday Jan 13th and Monday Jan 16th at 11:00am till Dark. Admission will be Saturday pricing. Saturday and Sunday we’ll open regular hours. Weekend pass for Friday thru Monday at dark will be $50.00 instead of the normal Monday Holiday Pass of $70.00. This includes vehicle, driver, passengers and camping (primitive). We have several commitments from large groups for this weekend. Should be a great turnout.
Conditions look very good. We were pretty dry last weekend with no rain and this rain now all moves out tonight so we get to dry Thursday. As the weekend progresses we will get drier. That being said there will still be some slick areas on certain trails. Temps in the high 50’s low 60’s great weather for wheelin’.
It looks like we might get lucky for Saturday and miss the rain. Possible rain on Sunday. So far the trails are in good shape. We have been dry with low humidity so far this week. Once again if coming from a distance and or want info on up to the minute conditions give us a call. 864 449 5698
Saturday is discount for Nissans Internationals and Land/Range Rovers Day with driver and vehicle get in for $10.00. Speaking of Nissans check out our facebook fan page for the video of the Titan going up the top third of Heartbreaker. And it was slick out there.

We had a good bit of rain on Tuesday but it quit early and then the wind kicked up big time. So by Friday morning we should be in great shape. The weekend is supposed to be in the high 50’s and full of sunshine. I have several groups coming in on Friday and Saturday. This should be a great weekend for wheeling. So let’s get off the sofa and get some fresh air and sunshine cause it’s rare this time of year.
